Whatever therapeutic issue we might work on together my job is to help you develop strategies to reduce your distress while enhancing your growth as a person.

I recognise and support your capacity to be an agent in your own life and will help you find your own way of resolving the issues that get in the way of you living up to your potential whether at home, with your friends or at work.

My approach is empathetic and above all respectful of just where you are in your life so that together we can create a safe place in which you can explore deeply felt sources of difficulty and make lasting, positive changes in your life.

A bit about my background
I have successfully worked with a large variety of people over many years on issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship, work stress and life transition issues. My specialty lies however, in working with adults who have experienced early childhood trauma and are dealing with the effects of this on their confidence, self-esteem, ability to work and enter satisfying personal relationships. I also work with defense force personnel who have experienced trauma (resulting in PTSD).
I am active in promoting the work of psychology by serving
• on the Board of Conflict Resolutions Service, ACT, currently as deputy chair.
• as coordinator of the Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN)
• as the ACT Political Liaison Officer for the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Prior to practicing as a psychologist I was a public servant for over fifteen years, including at the Senior Executive level in a number of federal government departments. This experience positioned me well to be now called upon as an expert consultant for Federal and ACT Government Agencies in relation to developing emotional and social intelligence and resolving interpersonal conflict.
